What Training Looks Like at Zhonghua Wushu

Your first visit: Walk in Monday-Friday between 5pm and 8pm. Watch training. Talk to Sifu about what you want to learn. Ask questions. See if this is what you're looking for. Zero pressure.

What happens in class: Forms practice builds muscle memory. Conditioning drills develop power and endurance. Partner work teaches timing and applications. Weapons training extends technique to staff, spear, and sword. Beginners and advanced students train side-by-side - you learn by watching, they refine by teaching.

What you need to start: Discipline and a desire to learn. You will receive your first uniform set, a shirt and pants. Sifu will ask about your goals - self-defense, cultural study, fitness, discipline - and recommend where to begin.

What It Costs to Train

Your Commitment: Train as long as it serves you - months or decades. You're not locked into anything beyond month-to-month.

Questions People Ask Before Their First Visit

  • Yes. Most students start with zero experience. Sifu teaches fundamentals first. You're not behind - you're exactly where every serious martial artist once was.

  • Our students range from 5 to 75. Traditional Chinese martial arts were designed to be practiced at any age. If you can follow instruction and train consistently, age doesn't matter.

  • Conditioning develops through training. You don't need to be fit to start - you get fit by training. That's the point.

  • You don't need to decide before walking in. Sifu asks about your goals - self-defense, cultural study, fitness, discipline - and recommends where to begin. Many students eventually train multiple systems.

  • No. Month-to-month training. No contracts. No belt tests. No pressure to commit years in advance.

  • You'll learn functional techniques within months. Real skill takes years. Mastery takes decades. Traditional kung fu isn't a quick program - it's a lifelong practice. That's what makes it valuable.
